During this semester I attended the business launchpad, put of by the Office of Innovation at the University of Ulster. It was set up for students or graduates that hope to launch their own company, seek investment, or to learn about how to run a business.
During our launchpad ‘bootcamp’ I was in a group with Karishma; a masters student of multi-disciplinary design at UUB. We immediately clicked, and together began to develop her business plans further, applying the design thinking process from Stanford d-school. After breaking down the ideas and rebuilding them, we started to point her brand in a new direction. The main turning point was when we stopped looking at design and business as two separate things, but as something that went hand in hand.
We presented our findings and inspiration as highlighted in the following slideshow. Karishma and I have kept in touch and she has recently pitched her new brand to investors.
