Stories in Movement

JL Design produced these stunning pieces for the Chinese Documentary Channel CCTV9. They aim to convey stories that were “personal, intimate, and relevant” through recording the movement between individuals and how they connect with each other.

They trained six motion-sensing cameras on the actors to capture their movements, and then animated the data collected. I love the story behind this artwork, and especially like how the results leave a lot to the imagination-as the shapes morph into each other it’s very easy to start to see other images in their movement.
